Blizzard awarded $6 million in Glider suit

2 10 2008

“Blizzard has been awarded $6 million in damages from its suit against “bot” maker MDY Industries, the same suit it won back in July. MDY makes the World of Warcraft Glider software, allowing players to automate their avatars while they’re AFK. The BBC reports that the Glider program cost $25 and it’s believed the company sold around 100,000 copies.

Not that Blizzard is done yet. The company originally wanted double or triple the damages awarded. The case actually goes back into litigation this January and Blizzard will push on some remaining issues, like whether MDY violated the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act and whether the Glider programmer will have to pay damages out of his own pocket”joystiq

overall Lego batman reviews

25 09 2008

Lego batman over all has been getting pretty good reviews I mean for a Lego game they aren’t like halo style reviews but their good non the less. If you don’t like the other Lego games well you won’t like this one. But I’m not the one righting the review here check out what all the other sites have to say

  • GamePro (90/100): “Full of surprises, humor and an all-star cast of playable characters, it’s yet another solid reinvention of an established license. Plus, it has Batman in it!”
  • GameDaily (80/100): “If you’re sick and tired of LEGO games, then LEGO Batman: The Videogame probably won’t change your mind. However, if you enjoy them as much as we do, then you shouldn’t hesitate to shine the Bat-Signal and answer the call.”
  • IGN (77/100): “LEGO Batman is good fun, but it’s really just the same thing we’ve seen before. I don’t think the LEGO formula needs much of a change, but certainly the common issues with the series should no longer exist. If you’re looking to have a laugh with a buddy or you want something kid-friendly, this is your game.”
  • Game Informer (75/100): “The charm of LEGO blocks is exploring your creativity and building new things, so Traveler’s Tales’ habit of sticking to one formula stands in stark contrast to the entire LEGO philosophy. We’ve had fun with this series, but it’s time to dump the franchise out on the floor and start piecing it back into something new.

Guy gets sued over coping COD3

22 09 2008

“James R. Strickland of New York was being sued last month by Activision after he (allegedly) “copied the Copyrighted Video Game and distributed the Copyrighted Video Game to the public.”

ouch man first of all copying a 60$ that know can be bought for 20$ used that’s low. And second distributing it you’d think his a Little smarter than that but i guess not because hes done it. these sorts of lawsuits are pretty common for Activision any way so if you are going to get sued, at least go with Call of Duty 4

Activision planning annual Bond games and more Guitar Hero content

17 09 2008
*sigh*

Activision has announced that the James Bond series, starting with Quantum of Solace (which we were impressed with at Leipzig), will be an annual occurrence,That’s activision for ya always pumping out the sequels never making any new ip’s. they’ve turned into EA. Except EA are the good guys now always with new ip’s like spore and army of two. They’ve even announced that call of duty 6 is going to be made by infinity ward.Ya that’s right their announcing another call of duty before the next one even comes out. I’m sorry but the fact that when they bought siera and didn’t take ghost busters which is a new ip. but took spyro and some other game instead just makes me wanna hurl. take guitar hero for example activision told analysts that they were going to start pumping out the song packs instead of going the rock band root . which is dlc. to rap this all up, activision stop making so many sequels

Fallout 3 survival edition is completely sold out

14 09 2008

Do you remember that special set for Fallout 3 that included a life-sized Pip-Boy replica? Did you want one? Well that’s too bad, because they’re all sold out. Retailer Amazon, the only place to get it, notified Bethesda Softworks that the PS3 version of the Survival Edition had completely sold out. Judging by the way those things were selling, you’d think people were stocking up … getting ready for some sort of catastrophe or something.

Oh well i guess il be picking up the regular edition or the 360 version.
